We are committed to providing a safer environment for conference attendees, especially regarding community and public health. Therefore, we are implementing the following policies for the WPCampus 2024 conference.
These policies were created with the community’s health in mind, referencing local, state, and federal guidelines. These policies strengthen the WPCampus Code of Conduct.
There is no “zero risk” in-person event; however, we aim to make the conference safer for our community and to mitigate risks as much as possible. We ask that you consider the inherent risk of exposure, act as if you will come into contact with COVID-19, and take actions to protect yourself and others through good masking and hygiene.
We trust our community to respect each other’s health, comfort, and safety.
Attendee agreement
By attending WPCampus, attendees confirm that they have read these policies, understand them, and agree to abide by them for the duration of the event. Attendees further voluntarily assume any risks associated with exposure to COVID-19.
Testing and symptoms
We expect attendees to be tested for COVID-19 before and after the event. Individual rapid tests will be made available for those who request them.
If you are recovering from COVID-19 and test negative before the event, feel free to attend, yet keep in mind your own health, comfort, and safety.
You will not attend WPCampus 2024 if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Symptoms include but are not limited to chills, fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, and sore throat. Visit the CDC’s website on COVID-19 symptoms for more information.
If you have arrived for the event and feel symptomatic, do not come to any of the event venues. Instead, contact conference staff. Organizers will work with you and can provide a rapid test.
If you test positive for COVID-19 while attending the event, we will do our best to accommodate and will work with Tulane University to provide isolation, if necessary.
Vaccinations
All attendees are encouraged to stay up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccines, as recommended by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
Travel to the event
We ask that attendees be mindful of their health and safety and consider the risks of spreading COVID-19 while traveling to the event. The CDC recommends that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings.
Sanitation
Hand sanitizer will be made available to all attendees.
Contact Tracing
If during or after the event, you exhibit symptoms of or test positive for COVID-19, please contact conference staff to inform them. We will not share your personal information. We will use this data to update a follow-up list of public health stats; for example, this may include the number of positive tests or the sessions people attended.
Refunds
Do not attend WPCampus 2024 if you have COVID-19 or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Contact conference staff if you would like to request a refund of your ticket cost as soon as possible.
